Ouachita to present One Act Play Festival April 29-30
April 29, 2021Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will present its biannual, student directed One Act Play Festival on Thursday, April 29, and Friday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theatre. The One Act Play Festival features a variety of short plays produced by seniors for their end-of-semester project in Ouachita’s directing class.
Ouachita's Department of Theatre Arts to present "Little Women: The Musical" April 15-18
April 09, 2021Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will present its spring production of Little Women: The Musical with the opening performance to be held on Thursday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. Performances will continue April 16-17 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m. The production is open to Ouachita faculty, staff and students with limited seating to allow for social distancing, and streaming tickets are available to purchase for the general public at obu.edu/boxoffice.
Hall and Ring to perform senior musical theatre recitals Feb. 26
February 17, 2021Ouachita Baptist University will host Danielle Hall and Elizabeth Ring in their senior musical theatre recitals on Friday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. Due to COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines, the recitals will be livestreamed for the public at livestream.com/obu, and there is limited seating for Ouachita students, faculty and staff in McBeth Recital Hall.

Ouachita's School of Fine Arts announces adjusted spring events

October 20, 2020Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will present its fall production, “Hay Fever,” beginning Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theatre. Performances will continue Nov. 5-7 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m.

October 15, 2020Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts has made adjustments to its fall concert and theatre season to both allow students to continue their performance education and allow viewers to experience their art safely amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will open its fall children’s production, “Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic,” on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theatre. Performances will continue September 18-19 and 21-22 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 2:30 p.m.
Ouachita's annual 10-Minute Play Festival to open March 14
March 04, 2020Ouachita Baptist University’s chapter of Alpha Psi Omega national theatre honor society will present its annual All Night Theatre: 10-Minute Play Festival on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. This event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in Verser Theatre on Ouachita’s campus.
